In Theology today, we read Genesis 1:27-28. In that it says, "So God created humankind in his image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. God blessed them, and God said to them 'Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.'"
My professor brought up the fact that it says male and female and gave us two different ways of reading into that. The first was as male and female being different and the second was of male and female possibly being the same thing with no different gender. It was an interesting thought. Also, another girl brought up about women not being seen as equal to man and in this section it says about male and female BOTH having dominion, which would make everyone equal.
I had never thought of it this way so could this be a right assumption? What does everyone think about this?
